Current Focus focus
My primary focus right now is maintaining this blog and a YouTube channel, which is intended to be a tech resource as well as a log of my projects.
Since I'm always working on something, be it tinkering with a server install, or trying out a new SaaS offering, this blog will present me with opportunities to share some of those adventures with you.
Current Projects
Launching my blog and YouTube channel: This project has been taking up most of my time and energy lately, but I'm excited to see it finally coming together.
Communications-centric web app: This is a slow-paced project has been in the works for a few months. I am very optimistic about it. I am confident that it will fill a very big gap in a particular ecosystem. It requires skillsets that I do not have, so it will present interesting networking and collaboration opportunities.
Current Reading List 📕
"Blue Ocean Strategy" by W. Chan Kim & Renée Mauborgne: In this book, the authors argue that lasting success comes not from battling competitors but from creating "blue oceans"—untapped new market spaces ripe for growth.
"The 5AM Club: Own Your Morning. Elevate Your Life" by Robin Sharma: This book helps one maximize their productivity, activate their best health and bulletproof their serenity in this age of overwhelming complexity.
"Mastering the Art of Public Speaking" by Michael J. Gelb: I need this book to help me cultivate a structural flow in my presentations, connect with my audience, and have intentional body language.
Current Learning Goals 🥅
Python: I've always been interested in programming, and I'm currently teaching myself 🐍Python Web Development.
JavaScript and React: I seriously need to learn these two frameworks so I can start building web applications.
Current Challenges 😥
Overcoming imposter syndrome: As I work on launching this blog and completing the web app, I often find myself doubting my own abilities and questioning whether I'm really qualified to sell my vision to others.
Procrastination: I have had an acoustic 🎸for about 5 years, however, I have had challenges fitting it into my schedule. It is not a quiet and soothing instrument, especially when you're still a newbie 😂. However, you might see it as a prop in my YouTube channel.
Balancing work and personal life: With so many projects and goals on my plate, I sometimes struggle to find time for self-care and relaxation.
Current Health and Wellness 😷
The 4am Club: After reading the 5am Club book, I decided to start a new page in life. There was a complication though that made it impossible for me to start the club at 5am because I am already awake, and at work at that time. I then resorted to waking up an hour earlier; so that was the beginning of my 4am club membership.
Morning workout: I engage in a morning workout sometime between 4am and 5am. It entails routines that can be done on a yoga mat, e.g., push-ups, sit-ups, squats, lunges, backward-facing reverse push-ups, curls...etc.
Stairs: Take the stairs 🏃♂️and not the elevator or escalator.
Treadmill: The treadmill should be closer to one than the refrigerator. This will tie into my morning routine
Hiking: I have found a liking for some of the beautiful hiking trails by the river 🥾. It is winter ❄️ now, so the treadmill rules this realm. Hiking is on vacation.
